This is not a campaign for a man. It is a vision for our church — the house a son was born in, raised in, and is asking God for the honor of helping carry into its next season.
Read it prayerfully. Everything here begins and ends with one name: Jesus.
We remember and celebrate the faith, sacrifice, and dedication that built Faith Temple.
On March 7, 1955, thirty souls in search of God chose brother H.W. Goldsberry to lead them. From those thirty, God built a church of more than a thousand. They built this house on holiness, on the Word, and on the presence of God.
And here is what we never forget: our founder once got down on his knees and built a choir stand by hand — overnight — so that by Sunday our young people would have a place to sing praises to God.
We honor the foundation by building on it. Never by leaving it behind.
We stand on the shoulders of our charter members — Bishop H.W. Goldsberry & Mrs. Theace Goldsberry, the Powells, the Paynes, the Fitzgeralds, the Bostons, the McCoys, the Etherlys, the Raulstons, and the faithful who gave when no one was watching. Some sacrificed everything: our founding pastor gave up his own salary, and the Powells mortgaged their home, to see this church paid for in full.

We are united in purpose, equipped for service, and committed to excellence in all we do.
Some of our pews are emptier than they once were. Our faithful are aging, and we cherish every one of them. And our children and grandchildren are not yet sitting where we are sitting.
This is not a failure. It is an open door. The people we have prayed for all these years are on the other side of it — and God is calling us to go and bring them home.
Our mission: to glorify God by leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ — through worship, discipleship, fellowship, outreach, and service.
Our vision: to become a thriving, Spirit-filled church that ministers to the whole person — spiritually, emotionally, physically, and socially — while reaching our community with the love of Jesus.
This interim season has not been a season of waiting. It has been a season of work. By God's grace, we have revived our outreach, drawn members back into active ministry, and held this church together — leading through transition while keeping us unified, faithful, and spiritually strong.
You do not have to imagine what this leadership looks like. By His grace, you have already been living in it.
We are not changing who we are. We are extending who we are — to reach who is not here yet.
With faith, vision, and action, we will expand our impact and leave a legacy for generations to come.
For years our mothers and fathers have prayed one prayer: "Lord, bring my children and my grandchildren back to You." The future we are building is not about chasing the world. It is about answering that very prayer. We are not reaching for strangers. We are reaching for your family.
A light in our neighborhood that the lost and the hurting can find.
Where families are loved and discipled, with our Faith Builders Youth Ministry re-established.
A strong Sunday School and Bible Study where a soul grows from the back pew to leadership.
Some may wonder if reaching people online means leaving our roots. It is the opposite. Brother Goldsberry carried Faith Temple's voice onto the radio, and planted churches in Ghana, British Honduras, the Virgin Islands, and London. Reaching beyond these walls has always been who we are.
When we stream our services, our shut-in saints never miss a Sunday, and a grandchild three states away can find their way home. Brother Goldsberry called this church a "filling station" — fill up on the Word and the anointing, then go and serve the world. That is still exactly who we are.
The best days of Faith Temple are not behind us. They are ahead of us.
"Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think." — Ephesians 3:20
A son of this house — raised here, called here, here to stay.
I did not come to Faith Temple. I was born into Faith Temple. I am a second-generation Church of God in Christ — the son of a COGIC pastor — raised in these pews. For thirty years I have served this body: as an Elder, a Bible School Teacher, and now your Interim Pastor. I am not a stranger learning your name. I am your son, and I already know yours.
Wherever I was needed, I served:
I share none of this to boast — only so you know the hands you would be trusting. You do not have to choose between the church you love and the future you long for. In me, by God's grace, they are the same choice.
"The glory of this latter house shall be greater than the former, saith the Lord of hosts." — Haggai 2:9
